So, I was up for an hour before I realized it was Halloween. I didn't find out 'till I went here:
http://thebathtubdiaries.blogspot.com/
I dunno....I guess I'm just not one of the increasing number of "Over Thirtysomethings" who proclaim this to be their "Favorite Holiday" but whatever.
Have fun kiddies...and remember, every apple you get is sure to have a razor in it.
Now that that's out of the way...this is perfect time to bring up my favorite Halloween movie.
In fact, behind American Graffiti, this is the second most watched movie of my youth.
Every winter day after school for years....
Yes, the dialog was written by a 3rd grader and yes...no one seems to care there's a 70's Ford U-Haul truck, a Pinto AND a second generation Camaro on the streets of what's suppose to be Halloween night in 1965 (I'm sure there's plenty of other goofs, that's just off the top of my head)
but for a snowed in 7th grader there was PLENTY of things to keep me occupied....like "Tony Nancy yellow!"
Well, its no secret where my thing for go-go boots comes from anymore....or 57's.
One of the "Star" cars has been in the area for a long time...although I haven't seen it lately.
Here's the Pie Wagon as of 2001.

NASCAMARO
You know, it never ceases to amaze me how willingly/blindly fans of NASCAR (Or, Wrestling on Wheels) let themselves fall victim to the most blatant corporate advertising & product placement known to man.
THIS however, takes the cake.
I saw this thing in parking lot yesterday & my second thought (the first being, "The the F___?", of course) was, "I wonder if they got the matching jacket?"

My car is comfy but...
I should be ashamed of myself for posting so much You Tube stuff...it almost feels like cheating.
These guys have always been a favorite (If YOU can figure out my musical tastes....please feel free to let me know, 'cause I sure can't) & I thought, with my current situation, this song is only fitting.
God, I hope it doesn't come to this:

Kids these days
Why young kids aspire to play like the guy from Slipknot these days and not like either (or both...hello Louie Bellson) of these guys is totally beyond me.
If I had to name idols....its these two.
(Oh...if you visit this place regularly you're going to see a lot of this kind of stuff)

Well....
That is just about enough of that
Well...that's it.
Its over.
I'm now unemployed.
Sounds like the perfect time to go back to school if you ask me.

I've always said....
The only things better than garage songs about monkeys are country songs about hippies.
Of course, truck driving songs are better than all of them.

Just a quick soul cleansing
So, first thing this morning someone in work was playing this absolutely horrible music.
I already forgot the name of the band....some new bullshit that's suppose to be "edgy" but it was nothing more than mediocre but with really bad vocals.
Anyhow, someone clued me in to the subject matter of this particular song & I immediately thought of this.
Ah.....that's better.

I know, I know
Political correctness
I almost had nothing to say today....in fact, I'm kind of tired & probably won't say everything I want to about these people who insist on not offending anyone, ever, and as a result wind up being really offensive.
My example, Speedy Gonzales.
Why?
Apparently the people who make the decisions on what's "safe" to air on the television have found Speedy offensive....even....racist.
HOWEVER,
It wasn't but a few weeks ago on one of those Sunday night "Forgotten Oldies" shows on one of the commercial radio stations (don't get me started on that crap) that I heard Pat Boone's song "Speedy Gonzales".
What?!?!
Speedy is racist but PAT FREAKIN' BOONE isn't?!?!
Pat Boone....NOT racist......what kind of bizarro world are we living in?!?!?!

Greed
I've been saying it for years.
Money makes people do awful things.
Yahoo has to lay off 1500 people?
Didn't they turn down like...47 BILLION dollars from Microsoft?
Why?
To hold out for a better offer?
Good job guys.
What goes around comes around.
(Not that anyone cares but I don't plan on commenting on current events much around here...except my own...this just shores up a long standing view I have)

sunday! Sunday! SUNDAY!
My third post & already I don't feel like doing this.
Yesterday was a day we've been waiting all summer for, flat track racing at the Fairgrounds in Brockton, MA.
I'll have more pictures as I sift though but don't expect miracles....my camera was dying....so I have a lot of pictures of where the racing was.
Our current host has future plans.

"Build" as a noun
I can feel it already....I'm going to fill this page with things that bug the ever-living crap out of me.
Could we please stop using the word "Build" as a noun?
I mean, I know it can be but that doesn't make it any less pretentious.
"School" wasn't meant to be a verb either now that we're talking about it.

Brain Clutter
I'm the last person on Earth to start a "Blog".
I don't know why I've done this, other that to free my brain from useless, random crap & to make room for more useful brain-type things....like remembering to eat.
