Sometimes...

Form over function is perfectly acceptable, and highly recommended.

Ya know, it almost has the right size wheels too!
(I'm such a prick)

As much as I

As much as I think the space program is a GIANT waste of money, time, energy and resource, it still amazes me that I am currently sitting in front of more advanced technology than was used to get guys to the moon and back.

1950 O'Mahony

I did this one all backwards.
The gal and I stumbled across The Mill Pond one Sunday afternoon.
It was closed, which actually made it easier to take some crummy pictures.
Just last week Bugles and I took a good ride back down to it for breakfast, yet I didn't take one picture.
Pretty standard diner food but a great, great car.
The interior was just worn in enough to make me think it was original & after a little inter tube sleuthing I found most if it is.
The booths have been reupholstered but with a blue as close to original as could be found.

I did not take these last three interior shots but stole them from the interwebs.
I wanted to post them 'cause the wear on the original formica counter is more visible.

Sorry your crappy corporate radio station failed

So, I guess the once relevant WBCN is going to be no more as of some time in August.
Boo-Hoo.
You mean people really don't want to hear Pearl Jam 3 times in an hour?
I couldn't care less about this if I had to.
In fact, I'll venture to say this should have happened 20 years ago.
My only question is, why wait?
Go now.
Hopefully this is the beginning of the end of commercial radio.
Don't forget, the commercial doesn't end with the advertisement.
They're also trying to sell you this crappy music, from this crappy band..AND-uh...when these pre-processed McBands come to town, they are usually booked in to the larger clubs who just so happen to be affiliated with Live Nation.
You wanna go see this crap in person?
Be my guest.
I'm sure everyone involved appreciates you kicking in the $17.50 service fee.
Good riddance 'BCN...and take the "Oldies" station with you.

On the run again

Alright, so I'm putting my thoughts together about the recent crime wave that's been happening in Abington, Massachusetts (Yeah, the lilly white suburbs are SO much safer) but my ramblings will have to wait for another day.
In the mean time I am gonna leave you with some more cool stolen stuff.

But, you know, no matter how hard I try.....

So help me

if I ever loose the feeling for stuff like this:

It was life a life size AMT model kit

This 37 Chevy got me by the hormones.
So round.
So firm.
So fully packed.....and easy on the draw.

Wason Car #229

Sissons.
Actual trolley car from (from what I hear) the teens.
Fully functional....just not when I'm around it seems.

A good idea

I'm sure you've noticed by now that one of my big complaints is when someone tries to make a "Hot Rod" from a car that just isn't & does it wrong.
That's not to say you can't take an early/mid 60's compact & make it cool.
It's just that, for whatever reason, no one does.
I spotted this at a local "cruise" night over the holiday weekend & fell in love.
A clean, simple little Comet not trying to be anything.
Imagine how must fun this thing is.

This isn't what you think

If I were cool I could say this is the shot from the side of a boat over 4th of July weekend but I'm not and it isn't.

Taken from a Volkswagen on a particularly humid day in June.

I'm a little pressed for time today

So, in honor of our nation's impending birthday, I'd like to post something that just screams "America!"....er....and "Fuck yeah!" (Oh, and yes, I stole this from someplace else)

Fodero Dining Car Company

Saturday evening, on a whim we took a ride to The Agawam Diner for what may be the best damn pie this side of the moon.
Unchanged since 1954, other than the sign, which was a bit of a surprise.

Seeburgs at every table (except for the one driectly behind us...I'm hoping it was just out for repairs) although they are filled with things like Nicklefudge, Coldback, or whatever the kids listen to today.

Still, every town should be so lucky.
